The Origin of Ritual

Imperio Maya was born from a deep connection to culture, memory, and the quiet power of ritual.
 

We are Cuauhtémoc and Dany. Both from Mexico, our story is shaped by heritage, place, and lived experience. Dany grew up in a small Mayan village, where traditions are not preserved in museums, but lived every day — in the way families gather, in the homes they build, and in the methods passed down through generations.
 

Spending time with his family, witnessing these traditions — from cooking with ancestral tools to the rhythm of daily life — became more than inspiration. It became a calling.

Imperio Maya is our way of honouring that experience.
 

Each piece is more than a candle — it is a moment of stillness. A return to something timeless. Every vessel is carefully crafted, every scent thoughtfully blended, and every detail designed to evoke presence and atmosphere.
 

No two pieces are the same. Each carries its own character, its own story. This is not mass production. This is an intention, shaped by hand.

While our work is inspired by the richness of Mayan culture, it does not seek to replicate or appropriate sacred symbols or protected heritage. Instead, each design is an original interpretation, created with respect for the traditions that continue to live through the communities that inspire us.
 

Imperio Maya exists to transform the everyday into something meaningful — where scent becomes ritual, and ritual becomes part of you.

As we continue to grow, we intend to bring elements of production closer to the communities that inspire our work.

In time, we hope to collaborate more closely with Dany’s village, creating opportunities to support local craftsmanship and contribute in a way that is respectful, sustainable, and rooted in community.
