Where scent becomes ritual
The Origin of Ritual
K’abel Rituals was born from a connection between two worlds — a journey shaped by love, culture, memory, and the quiet power of ritual.
We are Cuauhtémoc and Dany. Our story began with two people from very different places: one from the historic city of Liverpool, England, and one from a small Maya village in Campeche, Mexico.
Although our backgrounds, languages, and experiences were different, we found a shared connection through culture, tradition, and the belief that the most meaningful things in life are often found in simple moments — a shared meal, a family gathering, the scent of home, or the lighting of a candle at the end of the day.
Dany grew up surrounded by Maya traditions that were not preserved behind glass or written only in history books, but lived every day — through family, community, the land, and knowledge passed from one generation to the next.
Spending time with his family, experiencing their traditions, from preparing food with ancestral methods to witnessing the rhythms of village life, became more than inspiration.
It became a responsibility to honour those memories and share the feeling they created.
K’abel Rituals was created from that connection.
Each piece is more than a candle. It is an invitation to slow down, reconnect, and create a moment of stillness in a fast-moving world. Every vessel is carefully designed, every fragrance thoughtfully blended, and every detail created to transform an everyday moment into a personal ritual. Made from K'abel Atitlán stone (inspired by the sacred landscapes of Atitlán, Xunán K'ab beeswax and Mexican Soy K'abel Blend). Our candles are works of art combining history with real living culture.
Our journey is also a reminder that distance does not have to separate people. Two lives, two cultures, and two worlds can come together to create something new. K’abel Rituals represents our hope of building a future together — a future where the places, traditions, and experiences that shaped us can exist side by side.
While our work is inspired by the richness of Maya culture, it is not intended to replicate sacred symbols or claim ownership of traditions that belong to living communities. Instead, we create original interpretations inspired by the beauty, history, and values of the cultures that continue to inspire us, with respect and gratitude.
As we grow, we hope to bring elements of our work closer to the communities that inspire us. In time, we aim to build meaningful collaborations with Dany’s village, supporting local craftsmanship and creating opportunities in a way that is respectful, sustainable, and rooted in community.
K’abel Rituals is not simply a candle brand.
It is a story of connection.
A story of heritage meeting modern life.
A story of two people from different worlds finding their way to each other.
And a journey we hope others will become part of.
